Devin is a former broadcaster and Director of Operations with the CMU Club Hockey Network and a 2024 graduate from the School of Broadcasting and Cinematic Arts.
With over 100 games called under CCHN, Devin began commentary for the Men’s Division 3 hockey team in the spring of 2021. The next year he helped revive video live-streamed broadcasts for CMU Hockey with fellow broadcaster Regan Cleves, gaining experience in play-by-play and sports media.
He completed his first full season with CMU D3 over 24 games, producing both home and away broadcasts. The next year, Devin called 48 games for Men’s Division 3 and Women’s Division 2, the MCHC tournament, and across 19 ACHA National Tournament games.
In 2024 Devin expanded to hosting a CMU hockey radio show on the campus-run radio station 101.1 The Beat, producing and providing talent for a full season of Moore Hall Television’s production of Inside Chippewa Hockey, and season-long coverage of CMU Hockey. Devin concluded the year calling the ACHA Men’s Division 2 National Championship game.
“I am grateful to have been a part of building this great student organization, getting to watch some very fun and successful CMU Hockey teams while growing my ability as a sports broadcaster. My favorite CMU Hockey memory is getting to travel on the Miami Showcase during my junior year, seeing the D3 team upset the number 2 team in the ACHA and bond with our broadcast team."
After three seasons with the USHL's Omaha Lancers, Bleasser joined the AHL's Cleveland Monsters for the 2024-25 season.
His broadcasting journey began in the fall of 2017 while attending community college in his hometown of Kalamazoo, Michigan. That is where he got picked up by the Slocum Sports Network, which produced live radio broadcasts for high school and collegiate athletics in the southwest Michigan area.
After transferring to Central Michigan University in the fall of 2018, Blaesser wasted no time getting involved with the university's Chippewa Sports Network. While there, he worked in the control room, was a camera operator, and play-by-play broadcasting for all Central Michigan varsity sports through ESPN and CBS Sports.
During his time in Mount Pleasant, Blaesser created the Central Michigan D3 Hockey Club Radio Network from scratch. The network covered everything CMU Division 3 Club Hockey, from live radio broadcasts, posting on social media, writing post-game reports, graphic design, and more. The network also got Blaesser recognized at a national level through the American Collegiate Hockey Association two years in a row as being a top broadcaster in the league. Blaesser graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree in May 2021.
Blaesser’s other media roles have included being a play-by-play broadcaster for Big Rapids High School Hockey through the Big Rapids Radio Network. He also has worked as a video production, graphic designer and social media manager for the Kalamazoo Growlers and Battle Creek Bombers of the Northwoods Baseball League. Additionally, Blaesser was an audio engineer for 101.1 FM & 91.5 FM, a student run radio stations in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.
